Emotional Stress

Emotional stress is considered as a very difficult form of stress to manage and cope up with. Most self-created problems are considered as easy to resolve, but when it comes to emotional stress; it is the whole different story.

Emotional stress causes stress that only heightens one’s emotions. Thus, the problem recreates the cause and as a result the problem only gets worse.

Causes of Emotional Stress:

  • A dramatic even that puts an individual’s nervous system under severe damage. A severe emotional strain can cause post traumatic stress disorder.

  • An entirety emotional strain that adds up to an overpowering strain that puts off a person from thinking about anything other than the problems that seem to have no solution

Symptoms of Emotional Stress:

Some of the most common symptoms associated with emotional stress are;

  • As the stress increases, the mind is left in its own cover of stress that can only call attention to itself, cutting the person off from the world outside.
  • Fatigue
  • Detachment
  • Memory problems
  • Inability to concentrate
  • Increased moodiness

Treatment Options:

  • The individual undergoing emotional stress is usually advised to take a break from everything that is creating all the emotional stresses and go on a vacation.

  • One of the most effective means for overcoming emotional stress is practicing yoga or learning to meditate.
  • There are some doctors who suggest having a hobby as the treatment of emotional stress. Hobbies such as playing a sport, needlepoint, going fishing, building model ships have indeed established themselves as an effective treatment of emotional stress.

  • There are some medicines as well for the treatment of emotional stress. However, they must be administered by qualified physicians.
